Reports have revealed that Realme is working on the Realme 12+ 5G smartphone for different markets. The global version of the device has the RMX3866 model number. A device bearing a similar model number, i.e., the RMX3866, was recently approved by China’s 3C authority. It is speculated that it could be a Chinese edition of the Realme 12+ 5G. Now, the same device has received approval from the MIIT authority in the country. The listing has no information about its specifications, but it has revealed its design via images.

The Realme 12+ 5G images shown reveal a flat display with a punch-hole design on the back. The back panel, which seemingly has a leather finish, is equipped with a round camera module. The overall look is quite similar to the Realme 12 Pro series, which is said to debut globally on Jan. 29.
There is a possibility that the Realme 12 Pro series may launch in February in China. The Realme 12+ 5G may likely accompany the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ models in China.
According to other reports, the Realme 12+ 5G will have a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. It is unclear whether the phone has two or three cameras on the back. However, it is speculated that the rear camera system has a 64-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel auxiliary lens.
The Realme 12+ 5G will run on Realme UI 5, but there is no clarity yet about the Android version. It is expected to support 67W fast charging and offer connectivity features like dual SIM, 5G, and NFC.
