In January 2025, Realme unveiled the Realme 15 and 15 Pro smartphones. Surprisingly, the brand skipped the Pro+ variant, which was the most anticipated model. The company has started teasing the arrival of the Realme 16 series, hinting at a January 2026 launch.
Realme 16 Pro+ confirmed
Rumors suggest that the Realme 16 Pro series will debut on Jan. 6 in India. While the landing page for the Realme 16 Pro series has revealed some of its features, it is yet to confirm the launch date. The most important thing that the page confirms is the existence of the Realme 16 Pro+ edition.
The microsite also confirms that the Realme 16 Pro / Pro+ will be available in a golden shade. It also reveals that the phone is equipped with a mysterious Snapdragon chip, which is said to be more powerful than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t shared the core specs of the Realme 16 series smartphones. But it has confirmed that the Pro models will get three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches.
Realme 16 Pro series specifications
Rumors suggest that the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen offering a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Both phones may pack a 7,000mAh battery, with the Pro+ offering 80W charging, whereas the Pro version may offer slightly slower charging.
The Realme 16 Pro series is expected to ship with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The series will run on Android 16, and both may feature a 50-megapixel front camera. The back panel of both phones may feature an OIS-enabled 200-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Being a Pro+ edition, it may come with an additional 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
