Although the Realme 9 series was initially rumored to launch this year, but the ongoing chip shortage had forced the company to push back it’s launch date to early part of 2022. As with the current Realme 8 series smartphones, the upcoming Realme 9 series lineup is expected to include several models such as Realme 9, Realme 9i, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9 Pro+.
Ahead of it’s launch, one of the models – Realme 9i – has been spotted on Geekbench today along with some of it’s crucial specs. The Geekbench listing appears to corroborate earlier reports that the Realme 9i will be fueled by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset.
Likewise, it also revealed that the phone would feature 4GB worth of RAM in the memory department along with Android 11 covering the software side of things.
As for the rest of the specs, the Realme 9i is expected to feature an IPS LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution topped with 90Hz refresh rate. Here, it might sounds a bit of a downgrade considering that the Realme 8i has a slightly faster refresh rate of 120Hz.
Design-wise, the Realme 9i is expected to sport a rectangular camera island at the back which seemingly shares the same design as the Realme GT Neo2. It’s also apparent that the phone will be coming with a triple-camera system which is reportedly headlined by a 50 megapixels main camera.
