Realme China President Xu Qi confirmed that the Realme GT 3 is being developed for the Chinese market. He revealed that the device would be launching by the end of 2023 in China, which indicates that it will be a different device compared to the global version of the Realme GT 3, which is set to launch on Feb. 28 at the MWC 2023 event.
Xu Qi did not confirm any information on the Realme GT 3’s specifications. Reports say that the Snapdragon Gen 3 may come out as early as October this year, and the first flagship phones with the new chip may debut in the fourth quarter of this year.
Nothing much is known about the SD8G3 chip. Initial reports have revealed that it will be a 3nm chip. Earlier this month, the SD8G3 was spotted on Geekbench. It scored 1930 and 6236, respectively, in the single-core and multi-core tests of the benchmarking site. Unfortunately, the listing did not reveal any details on technical details of the chip.
The Realme GT 3, scheduled to launch next week in the global market, is not an entirely new phone. In fact, it is a renamed version of the 240W charging variant of the Realme GT Neo 5, which was announced in China earlier this month.
The global Realme GT 3 is expected to arrive with a 6.74-inch OLED FHD+ display with 144Hz refresh rate support. It may come with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It may house a 4,600mAh battery that supports 240W fast charging. The GT 3’s global model is expected to feature a 16-megapixel front camera and 50-megapixel triple rear cameras.
