Realme GT 6 officially confirmed to launch in May in India

A day after announcing the return of the GT series in India, Realme has now confirmed the first phone will launch later this month. The company has kept the exact model under wraps. However, it has been speculated that the phone in the spotlight is the yet-unannounced Realme GT 6.

The teaser poster shows off the phone’s sleek design, which includes a curved display and rounded corners. The frames are flat and sport a matte finish. They seem too slim to house a fingerprint scanner, hinting at an under-display optical sensor.

According to reports, the Realme GT 6 is a rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo 6. The latter will be unveiled tomorrow during an “AI Digital Human” conference in China.

Realme GT Neo 6 specifications

The Realme GT 6 is confirmed to feature an 8T OLED screen with 600 nits of local peak brightness. Realme claims that the 8T OLED technology reduces energy consumption by 20% compared to other LTPO technologies. Additionally, the screen boasts Greenfield AI Eye protection, protecting users against eye fatigue.

The latest Qualcomm chipset for affordable flagships, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, will power the GT Neo. The phone will be available with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB storage configuration.

To regulate the internal temperature, a 10014 mm2 dual VC cooling system will be included in the device. It boasts four times the thermal conductivity of a standard single-VC heat dissipation system, according to Realme.

A 5,500mAh battery will be used to power the phone. Within 10 minutes, it will go from 0% to 50% with 120W charging at the helm. Realme GT Neo 6 is a performance-focused phone, so the company has yet to delve into the camera specifications. Still, the official poster has confirmed a dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel shooter.
