Realme GT 8 Pro specifications leaked well before launch

Last year in November, Realme announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Realme GT 7 Pro in China and global markets. Therefore, it is likely that its successor, the GT 8 Pro, may debut around the same time this year. Months before its arrival, tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked key details about Realme’s next-generation flagship.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station’s latest Weibo post, the Realme GT 8 Pro’s engineering prototype features a flat OLED panel that supports a 2K resolution and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. The inclusion of the latter is not surprising, as the predecessor is already equipped with it. As far as the display is concerned, it appears that the brand has reportedly decided to ditch the micro-quad-curved screen that was made available on the previous generation.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, which is said to have the SM8850 part number. The leaker claims that its battery size will not be less than 7,000mAh and it will support 100W rapid charging.

The leaker does not have details of all the cameras of the GT 8 Pro. However, it mentions that it is equipped with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The device will also feature a metal middle frame.

Realme is unlikely to share any details about the GT 8 Pro now, as it is currently focused on the GT 7’s launch, which is scheduled to take place on April 23 in China.

The Dimensity 9400 Plus-powered smartphone will arrive with key features, such as a 6.8-inch OLED 1.5K 144Hz screen, a 7,200mAh battery, 100W charging, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner.
