After launching the Realme GT 2 series smartphones in the Chinese market last year, Realme has finally announced the availability of these devices in the global market during the ongoing MWC 2022 trade show. The new GT 2 series comes in two different flavors such as the Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro.
Starting with the higher-end model, we have the Realme GT 2 Pro which features a 6.7” LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display which offers a super sharp QHD+ screen resolution garnished with a buttery-smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate as well as a responsive 1,000Hz touch sampling rate. The vanilla Realme GT 2 on the other hand, settles with a comparatively smaller 6.62” AMOLED panel with FHD+ screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Around the back of the phone, both models share a rather similar design for their rear camera bump that houses a total of three cameras. Unsurprisingly, the the Realme GT 2 Pro comes with a more proficient camera system lead by a 50 megapixels Sony IMX766 main camera alongside a 50 megapixels Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera with 150-degree FoV and a 2 megapixels microscope lens with up to 40x magnification.
As for the Realme GT 2, it gets the same 50MP Sony IMX766 camera for it’s main unit but will feature a toned-down 8 megapixels ultra-wide unit and a 2 megapixels macro camera. Selfie-wise, it’ll be handled by a 32 megapixels front-facing camera on the Realme GT 2 Pro, and a 16 megapixels camera on the vanilla model.
Under the hood, the Realme GT 2 Pro and GT 2 will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 888 chipsets respectively. Memory options for both devices start from 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage and could go up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage for the Pro model.
To keep it’s lights on, both devices are backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. They will also be shipped with the latest Realme UI 3.0 based on the new Android 12 OS right off the box.
In the European market, the Realme GT2 Pro is priced at €749 and €849 respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB models. The vanilla Realme GT2 on the other hand, will be priced respectively at €549 and €599.
