As scheduled, Realme has officially announced the new Realme Q5 series smartphones in the Chinese market that will take on other budget-friendly devices in the market such as those from Redmi Note 11 series’ lineup.
Just like what earlier reports had suggested, a total of two models – Realme Q5 and Realme Q5 Pro – were introducing during the launch event. Without further ado, let’s check out what the new devices have in store for us!
Realme Q5 Pro
Starting with the higher-end model, the Realme Q5 Pro features a 6.62” AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution alongside a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it also has a 16 megapixels front-facing camera situated on the upper-left corner on the screen to help with selfies and video calls.
Over at the back, it sports a rectangular camera module which houses a triple-cam setup comprising of a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels macro unit for close-up photography.
Under the hood, the Realme Q5 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset which is pretty much a sidegrade over the Dimensity 1100 platform in last year’s Realme Q3 Pro. This will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage in the memory department.
To keep it’s lights on, the Realme Q5 Pro is equipped with a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast-charging support. The phone as usual, will be shipped with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 OS right off the box.
For those who’re interested, the Realme Q5 Pro is priced starting at 1,899 Yuan (US$300) for it’s 6GB+128GB trim, and goes up to 2,299 Yuan (US$360) for it’s top-of-the-line model featuring 8GB+256GB memory configuration.

Coming to the more affordable Realme Q5, this model settles with a slightly watered-down 6.6” LCD display which retains the same FHD+ screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Likewise, it also keeps the 16 megapixels front-facing camera.
On the imaging front, the Realme Q5 features a total of three cameras at the back comprising of a 50 megapixels main camera as well as a pair of 2 megapixels camera for macro and depth information.
The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 695 chipset that’s coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. Unlike the Realme Q5 Pro, this model actually supports microSD card for storage expansion. Although the phone features the same 5,000mAh battery, but it’s charging speed was reduced to 60W which is still among the fastest in the segment.
In terms of pricing, the Realme Q5 carries a starting price of just 1,399 Yuan (US$220) for it’s 6GB+128GB variant, and goes up to 1,799 Yuan (US$280) for the top-end model with 8GB+256GB configuration.
