Realme launches ultra-affordable X50 series 5G smartphones in Singapore

Realme, a global smartphone maker with a strong user base of more than 45 million users worldwide, has officially launched the all-new Realme X50 series smartphones in Singapore.

Tagged with a starting price of just S$599, the new Realme X50 series smartphones aim to make the adoption of 5G devices affordable to Singaporeans as the country transit towards the next-generation’s network.

The new X50 series smartphones live by the company’s “Dare To Leap” tagline that bring trendsetting technologies and design to consumers in Singapore.

Realme X50 Pro 5G

As its name suggests, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is the highest-end model among the two devices launched. It is a flagship model that is offered at a fraction of the price we normally see among flagship devices.

Realme X50 Pro

The device features a beautiful front panel that employs a capsular hole-punched design for it’s selfie cameras. It has a stunningly high screen-to-body ratio of 92% that brings a near bezel-less display for its users.

The front display is a 6.44-inches Super AMOLED display which delivers a 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and a buttery-smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ contents, 100% DCI – P3 color gamut, as well as an impressive 2000000:1 contrast ratio to make colors appear true to life.

To provide an uninterrupted entertainment experience, it has a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits that allows the screen to remain visible even under direct sunlight.

Unlike most other devices that come with a single selfie camera, the Realme X50 Pro 5G features a pair of selfie cameras consisting of a 32 megapixels main shooter as well as an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens that offers up to 105-degrees field of view which makes group selfie shots a walk in the park.

On the flip-side, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is protected by layer of 3D AG Glass that has a frosted-glass matte finishing which blends well with the low saturation colors of the device. Its indeed the unique matte finishing at the back which makes the device stood out from other flagship models. It looks elegant on the outside and feels premium on the hand.

Realme X50 Pro Camera

The quad-camera setup at the back comes in the form of a clean-looking vertical camera module which is flanked by a LED flash towards it’s right. These cameras include a 64 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) primary shooter, a 12 megapixels (f/2.5 aperture) telephoto lens that supports up to 20x hybrid zoom, an 8 megapixels (f/2.3 aperture) ultra-wide lens, as well as a b&w portrait lens.

At the helm, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which is paired by an X55 modem that allows it to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.

Realme X50 Pro

Memory-wise, there will be 12 gigs worth of LPDDR5 RAM alongside a hefty 256GB UFS 3.0 flash storage. The latest LPDDR5 RAM is said to be capable of delivering 29% faster reading speed, while reducing power consumption by 14%.

Realme X50 Pro SuperDart Charge

Underneath the device, it sits a 4,200mAh battery that carries support for 65W SuperDart charging solution that promises a full charge within a mere 35 minutes. Needless to say, the 65W charging rate is the fastest among all smartphones in the local market, including other flagship phones cost more than half its price.

If you’re keen, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is available in both Rust Red and Moss Green color options. It will be priced at S$999 and is up for pre-order from 15th to 30th October 2020 exclusively on Shopee.

Those who pre-ordered during this period of time will be entitled to a free gift bundles that include a realme Watch, realme Buds Q, and a realme Powerbank (worth S$287).

Subsequently, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be available island-wide from October 31st through Singtel, Starhub and realme’s official online flagship store on Lazada and Shopee.

Realme X50 5G

Although the Realme X50 5G shares a close resemblance to the “Pro” model on the outside, but both devices are different internally. The Realme X50 5G, along with the Huawei Nova 7 SE (Review), will be the only two models with 5G connectivity that cost below S$600 in Singapore. Apart from that, the device is also the cheapest Snapdragon 765G-powered smartphone in the local market.

The Realme X50 5G is built around a 6.57-inches FHD+ LCD display that offers an ultra-smooth 120Hz screen refresh rate that we normally see only among flagship-level smartphones. Akin to the Realme X50 Pro 5G, it also has two selfie cameras at the front that include a 16 megapixels (f/2.0 aperture) main camera and a 2 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) depth helper.

Under the hood, the Realme X50 5G features a dedicated Liquid Cooling System 3.0 to help with heat dissipation and prevent sluggish performance due to overheating. Other than that, the device’s speakers also comes with Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res certification that is set to bring to users an immersive audio and entertainment experience.

At the heart of the device, there will be a 4,200mAh battery that carries support for 30W Dart Flash Charge solution. According to Realme, a mere 30 minutes charge will be sufficient to bring the device from 0 to 100%, while a full charge will take only 57 minutes.

In Singapore, the Realme X50 5G will be available in both Ice Silver and Jungle Green colorways which will come in a single 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM configuration.
