Realme Neo 8 official image released ahead of launch

Realme has begun teasing its next Neo-series smartphone, offering an early look at what’s coming without revealing every detail upfront. The company has confirmed that the Realme Neo 8 will launch later this month in China, and the first official visuals suggest a noticeable shift in design and positioning compared to its predecessor.

The newly revealed Cyber Purple variant of the Realme Neo 8 highlights a transparent, cyber-inspired rear panel that exposes stylised internal patterns. This see-through finish gives the phone a more tech-centric identity, clearly aimed at users who prefer gaming-oriented aesthetics. Alongside the camera housing, Realme has brought back its Awakening Halo lighting system, which adds subtle illumination effects during notifications and charging.

Another detail drawing attention is the “120X” marking near the camera module, hinting at advanced zoom capabilities. While Realme has not officially confirmed the camera configuration, the marking strongly suggests the presence of a periscope telephoto lens. The phone also moves away from plastic construction, as Realme has confirmed a metal middle frame combined with a glass back, improving rigidity and overall feel. The front design remains under wraps, though leaks point towards a flat display tuned for gaming comfort.

Realme Neo 8 specifications (rumoured)

According to recent leaks, the Realme Neo 8 is expected to feature a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a variable refresh rate going up to 165Hz. It will come integrated with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

Powering the device is likely to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, placing the Neo 8 firmly in the affordable flagship category. It is said to be paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery capacity could reach 8,000mAh, supported by 80W fast charging. Camera details remain limited, but reports suggest it will have a 50-megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto camera. It is also expected to offer an IP68/69-grade dust and water resistance.
