Realme Race to Arrive as New Series Smartphone, Render of Unknown Realme Phone Spotted

Realme was one of the first companies to confirm that it will be launching a Snapdragon 888 SoC powered flagship in early 2021. The company revealed that the device is codenamed Race. Soon after the announcement, a leak appeared on GSMArena that revealed some of its key specifications. Since then, Realme fans have been asking about the launch date of the Realme Race phone. Today, Realme China’s President, Xu Qi took to Weibo to reiterate that the device is coming in 2021. At the same time, a render of a mysterious Realme phone was shared by someone in the comments section of Xu Qi’s Weibo post.

Xu QI Chase update on Realme Race

Xu Qi claimed that “Race” is just the codename of the device and its actual name is different. He also added that the phone belongs to a new series. There are speculations that the upcoming Realme SD888 phone could be arriving as an Ace series phone. A report that had appeared this year revealed that OPPO had transferred its Ace line to Realme.

The new render shows the phone sporting a uniquely designed leather-like rear. The top-left corner of the device’s back has a rectangle-shaped camera module with three cameras inside it. It appears that the camera setup is led by a 64-megapixel main camera. The company’s logo can be seen at the top-right corner of the phone’s back.

Surprisingly, the design of the phone seen in the new render is different from the leaked image that was shared by GSMArena. The leaked shot of the phone that was shared by the publication revealed that it has a round-shaped camera module on its rear.

The publication had also shared a screenshot of the “About Phone” page of the Realme Race. It revealed that the device’s model number is RMX2022 and it runs on Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS. The phone was found to be equipped with Snapdragon 888, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of built-in storage.

Readers are advised to digest the above-shown render with a pinch of salt since its authenticity could not be confirmed. Hopefully, newer reports arriving in the coming weeks will spill more information about the device.
