Last week, Realme announced the ColorOS 7 update roadmap for a total of 11 smartphones including Realme 3 Pro, Realme XT, Realme X, Realme 5 Pro, Realme X2 Pro, Realme 3, Realme 3i, Realme 5, Realme 5s, Realme 2 Pro and Realme C2.
However, there are some prominent devices which are omitted from the aforementioned list which spark some speculations whether these devices would be updated in the near future.
Hi Partha,
We would like to inform you that ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 update will not be rolled out for realme 1/ realme U1/ realme C1/ realme 2.— realme India Support (@realmecareIN) November 29, 2019
To make things clear, Realme has officially confirmed that there will be four devices which would not be updated. These devices are Realme 1, Realme U1, Realme C1, as well as Realme 2.
Surely, this will be a disappointing news for these smartphone users keeping in mind that the devices are only slightly more than a year old. However, there may be reasons behind Realme’s decision not to roll out update to this group of devices.
One of the possible reasons could be due to the device’s internals not being able to support the latest Android 10 OS and would therefore result in sluggish performance if updated.
Whatever it is, here are some of the key features to look forward to for the new ColorOS 7:
- Improved system-wide dark mode
- Improved system performance & smoother user experience
- Revamped UI with customizable icons & an eye comfort color system
- Redesigned sound effects across the system
- New Art+ wallpapers that bring users a refined desktop experience
- New typeface known as OPPO Sans
- Portrait Mode 2.0
- Enhanced Night Mode
- Super-Steady Mode for video recording
