The 5G arms race is on! Shortly after Vivo released a video teaser for their upcoming Vivo X30 5G smartphone, Realme has also jumped in with a revelation that the company is prepping a 5G smartphone known as Realme X50.
This will be the first 5G smartphone from Realme, since it’s establishment back in May last year. Not surprisingly, the Realme X50 will also be able to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes for it’s 5G connectivity.
As seen from it’s official teaser, the Realme X50 is likely to arrive with a pill-shaped, hole punch display that houses two selfie cameras. This seems to be the latest trend among upper mid-ranger devices recently, with Honor V30 and Huawei Nova 6 sporting the same form of design for their front panel.
Although the company did not reveal the processor which will be driving the device, but it is speculated to be equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming 7 series SoC with integrated 5G modem.
However, there is also a possibility that the device could also be driven by the upcoming Snapdragon 865 flagship SoC which will feature an in-built 5G modem.
For the past few months, Realme has seen a tremendous growth with it’s user base exceeding 17 million globally. Their latest offerings include the Realme XT and X2 Pro which offer incredible specs at an extremely palatable price point.
