Last week, a mysterious Nubia smartphone with NX669J-S model number was certified by China’s 3C regulatory body. Its appearance suggested that the company could be planning to launch an enhanced version of the Red Magic 6 series that went official earlier this year. Today, the company released an official confirmation that the Red Magic 6S Pro flagship gaming phone will break cover at 3 PM (local time) on Sept. 6 in China.
As can be seen in the poster, the Red Magic 6S Pro will be featuring the Snapdragon 888 Plus chip, which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 888. The image further shows that the Red Magic 6S Pro will offer a 165Hz refresh rate display, a triple camera unit, and impressive audio capabilities.
It appears that the NX669J-S Nubia phone that was recently certified by the 3C authority could be debuting in the Chinese market as the Red Magic 6S Pro. The 3C listing revealed it ship with a 120W rapid charger. It is likely that the company may inherit most of its other specs from the Red Magic 6 Pro.
The Red Magic 6 Pro has a 6.8-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display that produces a 165Hz refresh rate. The SD888 powered gaming phone offers up to 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The handset runs on Red Magic UI 4.0 flavored Android 11 and offers up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The 6 Pro has a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system and a front camera of 16-megapixel. It comes with support for 120W fast charging for its 4,050mAh battery.
The Red Magic 6S Pro moniker indicates that the company may also announce a Red Magic 6S variant alongside it. The company is expected to reveal more information on the Red Magic 6S models in the next few days before its launch.
