Nubia recently confirmed that it will announce the Red Magic 9S Pro gaming-focused phone on July 3 in China. Today, the brand released the following poster to confirm the name of the chip that will fuel the device.
Red Magic 9S Pro launch date
The Red Magic 9S Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, as shown in the image above. For those who don’t know, the said chip is an overclocked edition of the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. To recall, the Red Magic 8S Pro, which was announced in July 2023, featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version’s CPU and GPU speed have been increased to 3.4GHz and 1GHz, respectively. The above poster also mentions that the chip will be complemented by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Nubia has not revealed the other specifications of the Red Magic 9S Pro. It seems that apart from featuring the new chip, it will not offer anything new as compared to the Red Magic 9 Pro, which was announced in November last year.
The Red Magic 9S Pro is expected to feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The new chip could be accompanied by up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and a 6,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. It may feature a 16-megapixel under-screen camera and a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 50-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit.
