The Realme 6i that debuted in March was the first phone powered by the Helio G80 chipset by MediaTek. Redmi’s upcoming smartphone is found listed on the database of China Telecom’s product library. It reveals that it will be the world’s first smartphone with the new Helio G85 SoC onboard. The Redmi phone is said to break cover as Redmi 10X.
The Helio G85 moniker suggests that it is most likely an enhanced version of the Helio G80 which had debuted as a chipset with gaming capabilities for low budget phones. The Helio G85 is said to be a 12nm chipset with speculated configurations include two cores of 2.0GHz Cortex-A75 and six cores of 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 along with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
It is not the first time that the Redmi 10X moniker has surfaced. XDA Developers from last month had revealed that it had come across names like Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 10X 4G phones in the MIUI 11 Developer ROM. The K30 series phone and Note 9 have already gone official, but the Redmi 10X seems to be finally nearing its launch. At that time, no details on the specs of the Redmi 10X were known.
The Redmi M2003J15SC phone that was recently approved by TENAA will be debuting as Redmi 10X. The handset features a 6.53-inch display that offers full HD+ resolution. It has a front facing camera of 13-megapixel. The square-shaped rear camera setup has a 48-megapixel main lens, an 8-mgeapixel sensor and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors. Below it is a fingerprint reader. The device has up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of native storage.
The handset is expected to come equipped with a 5,020mAh battery that may arrive with support for 22.5W fast charging. Its other features include NFC. microSD card slot and Android 10 OS with MIUI 11. The phone measures 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9mm and it weighs 198 grams.
With the full specifications of the phone available on TENAA, it is likely that Redmi may soon confirm on its arrival in the near future. The China Telecom listing states that the phone will cost 1,499 Yuan in the home market. Its color variants are Sky Blue, Pine Morning Green and Ice Fog White.
