Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been officially announced with an irresistible price tag of 599 Yuan (~$90). It has arrived to replace the Redmi 4A from last year.
The Redmi 5A has a metallic chassis unlike the Redmi 4A that came with a plastic body. Its dimensions are 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.4mm and its weigh is 137 grams. It comes in multiple colors like Gold, Rose Gold and Gray. Appearance-wise, the Redmi 5A does not differ much from its predecessor.
The Redmi 5A is powered by the Snapdragon 425 and 2 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 16 GB. The hybrid SIM slot allows users to add microSD card to the phone. A 3,000mAh battery that powers the Redmi 5A promises to deliver 8 days of standby time.
The rear side of the phone features a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. The frontside of the phone has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is preinstalled with Android 7.1 Nougat that is customized with MIUI 9. It is equipped with connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. As of this writing, the smartphone is only available for buying in the home country of China. There is no confirmation on its arrival for other markets.
