Redmi 9 Receives Bluetooth SIG Certification

Recently, the Redmi 9 moniker along with its model number M2004J19G was spotted at Xiaomi India’s RF exposure webpage. Earlier this month, the Redmi 9 received approvals from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S., China’s 3C body, EEC in Russia and NBTC authority in Thailand. Now, the smartphone has bagged approval from Bluetooth SIG. The Bluetooth certification is a good hint that the phone will launch in June.

The Bluetooth SIG listing of the Redmi 9 shows that the phone supports Bluetooth 5.0 and it is loaded with MIUI 11 UI based Android OS. Apart from M2004J19G, the listing also mentions other model number variants of the phone such as M2004J19AG, M2004J19PI, M2004J19C, and M2004J19I.

Products that receive Bluetooth certification are known to go official within a month. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi 9 may go official in June. As of this writing, there is no confirmation from the company on the arrival of the Redmi 9 series.

The M2004J19G’s FCC certification revealed that it is loaded with Android 10 OS and it will be arriving with a minimum rated battery of 4,920mAh. Hence, the typical size of the battery will be 5,020mAh.

Unfortunately, the 3C certification of the device had revealed that it may ship with a 10W charger. Hopefully, the company may ship the device with a faster charger as the predecessor Redmi 8 came with an 18W charger. The handset is likely to arrive with a display of around 6.6 inches. It could be fueled by Helio G7 chipset and up to 6 GB of RAM. Lastly, it is expected to flaunt a quad-camera setup on its back.
