Xiaomi Malaysia has officially confirmed that the company will be launching the Redmi 9T smartphone in the Malaysian market on January 8th later this month.
Despite the new moniker, the Redmi 9T is expected to be a rebranded model of the Redmi Note 9 4G which was recently launched in the Chinese market. As such, we can expect the device to come with largely similar specs and design as the latter.
Starting with the front, the upcoming Redmi 9T will be arriving with a 6.53-inches FHD+ LCD display that comes with a typical dewdrop-notch that houses houses an 8 megapixels selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Redmi 9T is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 662 chipset which was also found in the newly announced POCO M3. This will be paired with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
In the camera department, the device comes with a quad camera system that includes a 48 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information.
Keeping its lights on will be a 6,000mAh battery that comes with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, there will also be a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers.
Besides the Redmi 9T, Xiaomi could also be launching the much-anticipated Redmi Note 9T 5G during the same launch event as well.
