Redmi is expected to unveil the successors for the Redmi K90 and Redmi k90 Pro Max in October this year. Well before the official announcement, tipster Digital Chat Station has key details about the K100 Pro Max’s chipset and cameras. Here’s a look at what new details have surfaced.
Redmi K100 Pro Max key details tipped
According to the tipster, a prototype of the upcoming Redmi flagship is currently being tested with a new imaging setup. The device is said to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor. This would mark a significant change compared to the 50-megapixel primary sensor used on the Redmi K90 Pro Max.
Alongside the main camera, the prototype is also said to include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a mid-size sensor. The addition of a dedicated periscope camera suggests improved long-range zoom photography for the next-generation model. The tipster also hinted that this new configuration could replace the previously rumored dual Samsung HP5 camera system, which may have been tested earlier during development.
Based on earlier leaks, the Redmi K100 Pro Max could feature a triple camera setup consisting of a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
Previous reports indicate that the Redmi K100 Pro Max prototype may be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation 2nm flagship chipset, expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This processor is expected to deliver notable performance improvements over the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the previous model.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market. However, its global counterpart may arrive under the Poco brand as the Poco F9 Ultra. If the rebranding pattern continues, the Poco model may feature similar hardware, including the upgraded camera system. The Redmi K100 series is expected to debut around October this year in China.
