Yesterday, a report on XDA Developer talked about a Xiaomi device that is codenamed as “lmi.” The said device was recently spotted on Geekbench benchmarking platform with Redmi K30 Pro moniker. The publication has claimed that the listing appears to be legitimate. The report also claimed that the Redmi K30 Pro won’t be equipped with a 108-megapixel camera. A tipster from China has claimed that the Redmi K30 Pro will come equipped with a Sony IMX686 lens as its primary shooter.
As it can be seen in the screenshot of the Weibo post, the Chinese tipster has revealed that the pre-production unit of the Redmi K30 Pro has a quad camera setup on its rea with an IMX686 main lens. This same lens was first seen on the Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G phones that were announced last year in December.
He seems to suggest that the lens arrangement on the Redmi K30 Pro is different from the Redmi K30 handset that includes a vertical quad camera setup. There is a possibility that the Redmi K30 Pro will adopt a round-shaped camera module. The XDA report had also claimed that the “lmi” was found listed among devices that are equipped with 64-megapixel cameras.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 series is expected to come equipped with 108-megapixel camera. Even though the Redmi K30 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform which also fuels the Mi 10 series, it won’t be as premium as the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Hence, the company may have settled for 64-megapixel lens on the Redmi K30 Pro. Rumors have it that Redmi will announce the K30 Pro by the end of the coming month in China.
