After announcing the Redmi K30 Pro last month, Redmi is now reportedly working on a more affordable variant for the K30 series lineup. This device will allegedly be known as the Redmi K30i according to a new report out of China.
According to a leaked internal document (via ITHome), the Redmi K30i will once again be a 5G-ready smartphone which is expected to be priced around 1,799 Yuan (US$254). Unlike the Redmi K30 5G which has a 64 megapixels main camera, the upcoming Redmi K30i will feature a watered-down 48 megapixels main shooter instead.
In terms of availability, the Redmi K30i is expected to make its official debut by the end of the month. It will then go on sale in the Chinese market somewhere around May next month.
For sure, the Redmi K30i would be one of the cheapest 5G smartphone in the market when it goes on sale. Although not confirmed, but the device is expected to be driven by an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 800 SoC which is also utilized in the newly announced OPPO A92s.
