Redmi is going to announce the Redmi K50 series of smartphones on March 17 in China. The event is likely to see the arrival of three smartphones, such as the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+. These smartphones are expected to sport an almost identical design. Today, the company released a new poster to showcase the rear design of the Redmi K50 Pro / Pro+.
It is speculated the Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro+ will both feature a 108-megapixel primary camera. The latter is likely to carry support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), whereas the former may lack support for it. The K50 series handset with a 108-megapixel camera in the poster appears to be the Redmi K50 Pro or the K50 Pro+.
So far, reports have revealed that the Redmi K50 Pro will arrive in three options, such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. It may feature the Dimensity 8100 SoC and carry support for 67W fast charging.
On the other hand, the Redmi K50 Pro+ may come in configurations such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The flagship device might be powered by the Dimensity 9000 SoC. The K50 Pro+ is also expected to support 120W rapid charging.
The Redmi K50 Pro+ is speculated to house a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and offer a heat dissipation area of 4,000mm2. The K50 series will come preinstalled with Android 12 OS overlaid with the MIUI 13.
