Redmi unveiled the Redmi K70 series of flagship phones on Nov. 29 in China. The company carried out the first sale of the series on Dec. 1. Shortly after its release, Redmi reported that sales had surpassed 600,000 units within the initial five minutes, more than doubling the sales volume of its predecessor, the K60 series. Today, it released the following poster to confirm how many units of the K70 lineup were sold in the first 14 days.
The company confirmed that sales for the Redmi K70 series have surpassed the 1 million unit mark within the first 14 days of its launch. It is a new record for the K series, achieving the fastest path to reach one million units in sales. In addition, it also revealed that the Redmi K70 Pro Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse, a limited-edition model that debuted on Nov. 29, will finally be available for purchase starting tomorrow (Dec. 21) in China. The brand has not confirmed the limited-edition model.
The Redmi K70e, which has a starting price of 1,999 yuan, is the first model in the K70 lineup. It is the world’s first smartphone to come equipped with the Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset. It offers key features, such as a 120Hz OLED display, 64-megapixel triple rear cameras, and a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
The Redmi K70 and K70 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. The Pro model has a 2x optical zoom camera, while the K70 has a 2-megapixel macro camera instead. The rest of the specifications are identical on both smartphones.
