Last year, in November, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K70e, Redmi K70, and Redmi K70 Pro in China. The global market rebranded the K70e and K70 as the Poco X6 Pro and the Poco F6, while the K70 Pro remained exclusive to the Chinese market. The brand is now reportedly working on the Redmi K80 series of smartphones. As of now, rumors suggest that the lineup may include two models, such as the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro. Both devices are expected to break cover in November of this year. The rumor mill has already leaked a few details of the Pro variant. A new leak has revealed some additional information about the device.
Redmi K80 Pro specifications (rumored)
According to tipster Experience More, the Redmi K80 Pro’s telephoto camera will support 3x optical zoom. This is an upgrade considering the K70 Pro’s telephoto camera offers 2x optical zoom. In addition, it will have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
Previous leaks have claimed that the Redmi K80 Pro will have a flat OLED panel with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will power the device.
The K80 Pro is also tipped to house a 5,500mA battery with 120W fast charging. It is expected to ship with HyperOS 2.0-based Android 15.
The Redmi K70 Pro remained exclusive to the Chinese market. Hence, it is likely that the K80 Pro may not be released in the global market.
The remaining models in the Redmi K80 series may release as Poco-branded models in the global market next year. At present, it is too early to speculate on their monikers.
