Redmi has announced that its K80 series has sold over 1 million units in just 10 days, setting a new record for the K series. This follows the previous record set by the series, with over 660,000 units sold on its first day of availability. Redmi’s general manager, Wang Teng Thomas, expressed confidence that the K80 series will be a flagship hit in 2025.
The Redmi K80 series boasts significant upgrades in performance, battery life, and camera capabilities. Starting at 2499 yuan, the standard version features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro version is equipped with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The impressive sales figures highlight the series’ popularity and suggest that Redmi’s strategy of delivering high-end features at competitive prices is resonating with consumers. The K80 series launched on November 27th and was immediately available for purchase. This quick success builds upon Redmi’s overall strong performance, with over 11.1 billion phones shipped globally across 105 countries and regions in the past 11 years.
Rumors suggest that the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro will be rebranded as Poco devices in markets outside of China. In the global market, the K80 may get rebadged as the Poco F7 Pro, whereas the K80 Pro may get rebranded as the Poco F7 Ultra.
The Poco F7 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which is expected to next year in China with the Snapdragon 8s Elite chip onboard. Redmi is also expected to unveil the Redmi Turbo 4 before the end of this year in China. This is likely to get rechristened as the Poco X7 in the global market.
