Redmi fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of its Snapdragon 855 SoC powered flagship phone. Some reports have claimed that the company may announce a Snapdragon 730 chipset driven first. Tang Mu Thomas who is the General Manager of Xiaomi Intelligent Hardware Department has hinted through a new Weibo post that there could be a launch event on May 13.
In the above shown Weibo post, Thomas seems to be excited about the discussion he had with Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing. The words “one more thing” hint that Redmi may hold a launch event soon and at the end of the event it may announce something surprising. In the comments section of the Weibo post, Thomas has event hinted that the launch event will be held on May 13. As of this writing, Redmi is yet to confirm the date of its next launch event.
There is a possibility that Redmi may hold a launch event on May 13 to announce the Redmi Snapdragon 730 smartphone. And at the end of its launch event, it may tease the arrival of the Redmi 855 phone.
