Xiaomi has announced the brand new Redmi Note 10 5G series smartphones during a high profile launch event held in the Chinese market today. A total of two different models were introduced, including the Redmi Note 10 5G and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. Interestingly, the recently rumored Redmi Note 10 Ultra 5G wasn’t announced during this event.
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G
Starting with the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, the device comes with a 6.6” LCD display that comes with a central hole-punch cutout which brings along a 16 megapixels selfie camera. The front display offers a FHD+ screen resolution, smooth 120Hz refresh rate, as well as support for DCI-P3 color gamut. To sweeten the deal, Xiaomi has also added a layer of Gorilla Victus atop.
On the flip-side, the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G sports a rectangular camera module that features a triple-camera system lead by a 64 megapixels main camera alongside an 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 2 megapixels macro camera.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset which is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. On top of that, it also comes with an advance liquid-cooling vapour chamber to keep the phone cool during prolonged gaming.
Similarly, it’s also fitted with a respectable 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 67W fast-charging support. Last but not the least, the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity support, as well as MIUI 12.5 (based on Android 11).
In the Chinese market, the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G is priced at 1,499 Yuan (US$234), 1,799 Yuan (US$281) and 1,999 Yuan (US$313) respectively for it’s 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
Redmi Note 10 5G
Coming to the more affordable Redmi Note 10 5G, it comes with a 6.5” FHD+ display which has a slightly lower refresh rate of 90Hz. It’s front-facing camera is also downgraded from 16 megapixels to 8 megapixels as well.
In the camera department, the phone relies on a dual-camera setup instead of the triple-camera system found in the higher-end Redmi Note 10 Pro model. The two cameras include a 48 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels macro camera.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 10 5G is driven by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which is also found in the recently announced POCO M3 Pro. It will also be coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department.
The phone is helmed by the same 5,000mAh battery that’s capable of supporting hours of continuous usage on the go. Other than that, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as MIUI 12.5 (based on Android 11).
