When Redmi Note 8 was announced back in August last year, the device is available in a swathe of memory configurations with the highest-end model touting 6GB worth of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

However, it seems like Redmi will soon be introducing a buffed up variant for the Redmi Note 8 soon. This variant had already been certified by the Chinese TENAA authority with a hefty 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage space.
Based on the pricing of the current Redmi Note 8 models, the upcoming 8GB+256GB model should be priced at around 1,799 Yuan (US$258) in the Chinese market.
Apparently, the Redmi Note 8 isn’t the only smartphone treated with a new model. The Redmi K30 4G was recently spotted with a new 10GB+266GB model as well.
These new variants may go on sale during one of the online festive sales held before Chinese New Year.
