Recently, a pair of Xiaomi smartphones bearing the model numbers M2007J17C and M2007J22C were spotted on the Chinese TENAA database. These devices, according to reports, are none other than the upcoming Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G (aka Redmi Note 9 5G High Edition based on rumors).
Although pretty much everything pertaining to their specs had already been spilled, but the Chinese smartphone maker has yet to confirm on their official launch date.
That being said, Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing seems to suggest on his Weibo handle that the Redmi Note 9 5G series could be launched this month, or perhaps just in time for the grand 11/11 sales festival.
From what we’d learned so far, the Redmi Note 9 5G is likely to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G settles for a more powerful Snapdragon 750G chip.
In the camera department, the Redmi Note 9 5G employs a slightly modest triple camera system headlined by a 48 megapixels primary shooter. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G on the other hand, has a quad camera setup lead by a 108 megapixels Samsung HM2 sensor.
