After unveiling the latest Redmi Note 9 series phones in India earlier this week, Redmi has confirmed that the company will also be announcing the Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia on March 23rd.
However, this device could be the rebranded version of the recently announced Redmi Note 9 Pro based on the teaser image released by Redmi which hints on a square-shaped camera module with four camera sensors.
If that’s the case, then we could expect the upcoming Note 9S to feature pretty much the same specs as the Note 9 Pro – which is the more affordable version as compared to the Note 9 Pro Max.
Therefore, the Redmi Note 9S is expected to sport a 6.67-inches IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, it will be driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 720G SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space.
The quad-camera setup on it’s back consists of a 48 megapixels main shooter, an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 5 megapixels macro lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be completed with a 16 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
The device will be fueled by a massive 5,020mAh battery which supports up to 18W fast-charging. On the software-end, the device will run on the latest MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
