Redmi confirmed today that it will hold a launch event tomorrow (Aug. 3) at 2 pm (local time) in China. It appears that the brand will announce something related to the upcoming Redmi K60 Ultra. It is most likely that its launch date will be confirmed tomorrow.
As can be seen in the poster below, Redmi’s announcement tomorrow will be something related to MediaTek and Pixelworks. It appears that the announcements will be related to the Redmi K60 Ultra featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset and Pixelworks’ display chip for an enhanced visual experience.
The Redmi K50 Ultra was announced in August last year in China. Hence, it is likely that the brand will take the covers off its successors this month in the country.
Redmi K60 Ultra specifications
Rumors surrounding the K60 Ultra have revealed that it will have a 6.67-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The device will run MIUI 14-based Android 13.
The K60 Ultra will feature the Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset along with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It is expected to arrive in two configurations, such as 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage. The device is expected to support 120W fast charging and pack a 5,500mAh battery.
The K60 Ultra will not be the only Xiaomi device expected to launch this month. The brand is also rumoured to announce the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max tablet, the Redmi Pad 2 tablet, and the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 foldable phone alongside the K60 Ultra.
