MediaTek has confirmed that it will hold a launch conference on Dec. 23 in China. The Taiwanese chip manufacturer is expected to unveil the Dimensity 8400 chip on the said date. Reports have claimed that the Redmi Turbo 4, which is expected to go official in the next few weeks, will be the first phone to feature the new chip. Reliable Chinese tipsters have released Weibo posts to leak the key specifications of the Turbo 4.

The Redmi Turbo 4 is expected to feature a 6.67-inch flat OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution. The LTPS display is said to support a 120Hz refresh rate and feature a short-focus in-screen fingerprint scanner. In terms of durability, the device is expected to feature an IP68-rated chassis equipped with a plastic frame and a glass back.
The Turbo 4 will feature the Dimensity 8400-Ultra, a slightly customized version of the D8400 SoC. The device may ship with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It is expected to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
The Redmi Turbo 4 may feature a 20-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. The device’s back panel may feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The device will run on the HyperOS 2.0-based Android 15.
Speculation is rife that the Redmi Turbo 4 will be rechristened the Poco X7 Pro in the global market. For those who don’t know, the X7 series is expected to launch in January 2025. The Turbo 4 Pro, which is expected to launch with the Snapdragon 8s Elite in April 2025 in China, may be rebranded as the Poco F7 globally.
