Redmi is set to unveil the Redmi Turbo 5 series tomorrow, Jan. 29, in China. Over the past few days, the brand has been busy confirming key details about the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Today, it has officially revealed the core specifications of the standard Redmi Turbo 5, which is said to be priced at around 2,000 Yuan (approximately $300) in the Chinese market.
Redmi Turbo 5 key specifications
Starting with the design and display, the Redmi Turbo 5 features a premium build with a metal frame and a 2.5D glass back panel. On the front, the device sports a 6.59-inch OLED display, which is reported to support a 1.5K resolution. The official posters also suggest slim bezels and a refined finish, positioning the phone closer to flagship-grade devices in terms of look and feel.
Powering the Redmi Turbo 5 is the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. Interestingly, the same processor also powers the recently unveiled Honor Power 2. The device was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with 16GB of RAM and Android 16. Redmi has confirmed that the phone will feature flagship-quality LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, indicating a strong focus on performance.
Redmi has not yet confirmed the camera specifications of the Turbo 5. However, reports suggest that the device may feature a 50-megapixel main camera. Under the hood, the phone packs a large 7,560mAh battery, supported by 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging. The company has also highlighted that it has 3D Ice-Sealed Circulation Cooling Pump for heat dissipation.
The Redmi Turbo 5 series is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market. For global markets, the devices are likely to be rebranded, with the standard Turbo 5 expected to launch as the Poco X8 Pro, while the Turbo 5 Max may arrive as the Poco X8 Pro Max.
