In April, Redmi unveiled the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro in China, featuring a 7,550mAh battery. The recently announced Redmi K80 Ultra is equipped with a 7,410mAh battery. Now, a new development suggests that Redmi may be planning to launch a smartphone with an 8,000mAh battery in 2026.
Alleged Redmi Turbo 5 Pro / Poco F8 battery size tipped

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, Redmi is preparing a performance-focused smartphone for 2026. The device will reportedly feature a 6.8x-inch flat display, but the standout feature will be its 8,000mAh or larger battery capacity.
It seems that 8000mAh+ batteries could become the next major trend in smartphones. For instance, in April, Honor introduced the Honor Power, which is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip and packs an 8,000mAh battery. A recent leak also suggests that Honor may launch another phone this month in China with an even larger 8,200mAh battery.
Back to Redmi, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, expected to debut in Q2 2026, appears to be the most likely candidate to feature the new 8,000mAh+ battery. To recall, the Poco F7, available globally, is a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.
Following this trend, the Poco F8, expected to launch around the same time in Q2 2026, could be a rebranded version of the Turbo 5 Pro, and may also sport an 8,000mAh battery. At this stage, it’s still early to confirm details about next year’s smartphones. Hopefully, upcoming reports will offer more clarity on the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro / Poco F8.
