Upcoming Redmi K-series phone to feature Snapdragon 8s Elite, built-in fan with RGB

Redmi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro with the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite in April this year in China. By mid-2025, the brand is expected to unveil the Redmi K80 Ultra with the forthcoming Dimensity 9400 Plus chip onboard. A new leak reveals that the brand is also working on a K-series phone powered by the Snapdragon 8s Elite chip.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Redmi K-series phone is currently being tested with an active cooling system featuring a built-in fan along with RGB lighting. This suggests that the phone could be designed for high-performance gaming, where efficient cooling is essential.

Powering the device is the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite (SM8735) chipset, which is expected to deliver flagship-level performance. Additionally, the phone is set to pack a massive battery exceeding 7,000mAh capacity. Unfortunately, the exact moniker of the device is not known yet.

The leak has no information about the launch timeframe of the mysterious Redmi K-series. What seems certain is that the company may launch it a couple of months after the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro as it also features the same chip. Therefore, it is likely the K-series gaming phone may launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra or at some point in the third quarter of this year.

The last quarter of 2025 is expected to see the arrival of the Redmi K90 series. As per reports, the Redmi K90 Pro will feature the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. On the other hand, the K90 may arrive with a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
