Reno 13 Pro may feature 3x periscope telephoto camera, metal middle frame

On Oct. 24, Oppo will unveil the Find X8 series of smartphones. Last year, the brand unveiled the Reno 11 series in November, and it was followed by the launch of the Reno 12 lineup in May of this year. Therefore, it is likely that the Reno 13 series may break cover in November or December of this year. Today, the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station released a Weibo post to share fresh information about the Reno 13 series.

DCS has revealed that a prototype of the Reno 13 series is equipped with a periscope lens. This model features a periscope telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom and underwater photography. Additionally, it is also fitted with a metal mid-frame.

To recall, the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro came equipped with the Dimensity 7300 Energy chip and Dimensity 9300 chipsets, respectively. Both phones featured a telephoto camera. The new leak, which claims the inclusion of a periscope telephoto camera, may mainly pertain to the Reno 13 Pro.

This is not the first time that DCS has tipped information about the Reno 13 series. Earlier this week, the leaker released a Weibo post, which suggested that the 13 Pro could be equipped with the Dimensity 9300 chipset.

The previous leak revealed that the Reno 13 Pro will have support for magnetic wireless charging. It is also expected to offer better dust and water resistance than its predecessor.  The other details of the Reno 13 Pro are under wraps. However, it appears that more details of the Reno 13 series are likely to surface soon after the launch of the Find X8 series.
