While most of us are still keenly anticipating on the launch of the Huawei P50 series smartphones in the global market, a new report apparently suggests that the company could be launching the next-generation’s Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones in Q1 2022.
Traditionally, Huawei’s Mate series smartphones are announced during the forth-quarter of the year. However, the ongoing chip shortage due to the ongoing U.S. trade ban has forced the company to push back it’s launch schedule by several months.
Most importantly, the same report corroborates earlier reports that the Huawei Mate 50 series devices will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 mobile platform which will be launched by the end of the year.
That being said, the Snapdragon 898 chip that’s adopted on the Mate 50 series smartphones will not be equipped with an integrated 5G modem and is hence able to support only 4G connectivity.
Similarly, it was mentioned that the Huawei Mate 50 series devices will be arriving with a LTPO panel which allows the phone to leverage an adaptive refresh rate that could go from 1Hz to a maximum of 120Hz refresh rate.
