Report: OnePlus 8 series to be unveiled in mid-April

According to the latest information originating from TechRadar, the upcoming OnePlus 8 series is expected to make it’s global debut during the second week of April.

Although the publication didn’t reveal anything about the actual phones which will be announced during the launch event, but recent reports have suggested that the brand new OnePlus 8 lineup will consist of a total of three devices. These include the OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus 8, as well as OnePlus 8 Pro.

As it’s name suggests, the OnePlus 8 Lite will be the most affordable model among the three. It is expected to feature a central hole-punched display with minimal bezels along it’s two sides.

On it’s rear, the OnePlus 8 Lite will feature a rectangular camera module which houses a total of 3 camera sensors which is likely to be a main shooter, an ultra-wide lens, as well as a ToF sensor.

While there isn’t any specific details regarding the device’s key specs, but many believed it should be driven by a watered-down Snapdragon 7-series SoC or MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 SoC. As for the front display, it is likely to feature a decent 90Hz screen refresh rate.

Unlike the OnePlus 8 Lite, the OnePlus 8 will employ a curved display with a hole-punched on the top-left corner. As usual, the OnePlus 8 is expected to feature a buttery-smooth screen refresh rate of 120Hz.

At the back, it’s camera module has been redesigned and shifted to the center instead. It will however, continue to feature a triple-camera setup with presumably improved resolutions.

At the helm, the device will be driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which is capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. It should come with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space under it’s memory compartment.

Last but not the least, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be the highest-end model in the entire lineup. It will share a pretty similar design language as the OnePlus 8, but will come with a greatly buffed up internals.

Unlike the OnePlus 8, the “Pro” version is said to arrive with an improved QHD+ display, quad-camera setup, upgraded fast-charging technology (both wired and wireless), as well as a comparatively bigger battery.
