Following the launch of the OnePlus 9R back in March this year, OnePlus is now reportedly working on a new model dubbed as the OnePlus 9RT which is expected to debut in October later this month. This information came directly from Android Central, which has an excellent track record when it comes to leaks pertaining to OnePlus.
According to the publication, the forthcoming OnePlus 9RT is said to be based largely upon the current OnePlus 9R. What this means is that we’re likely to be looking at the same 6.55” FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a similar 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-wired charging.
However, the publication did highlight that the phone will be arriving with a ‘higher-binned version’ of the Snapdragon 870, and will be swapping the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor (found in the OnePlus 9R) for a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor that’s found in the OnePlus 9 series phones.
Other than that, it was also mentioned that the OnePlus 9RT will be the first OnePlus phone to be shipped with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. The upcoming OxygenOS 12 appears to bring along a range of new features like floating windows, theme store, as well as various privacy-centric add-ons.
In terms of availability, the OnePlus 9RT is set to launch only in China and India, as with the case of the current OnePlus 9R.
