Noida-based firm Ringing Bells had announced 2 of their latest Android smartphones during an official event earlier today amidst controversies over the shipment of their Freedom 251 smartphones.
This 2 budget devices namely Ringing Bells Elegance and Ringing Bells Elegant will come with a price tag of Rs. 4,499(~$67) and Rs. 3,999(~$59) respectively. Both device will come with a 5″ HD display powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). Camera-wise, they will both be equipped with a 8 megapixels main shooter as well as a 3.2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Nonetheless, you can expect both devices to be running on Android 6.0 out of the box.
The main differences that set the two devices apart will be their network coverage as well as battery capacity. The Ringing Bells Elegance comes with 4G connectivity (with VoLTE support), while the cheaper Elegant handset only comes with 3G connectivity. Lastly, the Ringing Bells Elegance will be powered by a 2,800mAh removable battery, as compared to a 2,500mAh battery on the Elegant.
During the event, the company also confirmed that the shipment of the Freedom 251 smartphones will begin on July 8. The first batch of delivery will only be made to 5,000 lucky customers, who will be charged an additional Rs.40 delivery fee (equivalent to 15% the cost of the device) upon handing over the device.
Company CEO, Mohit Goel, also mentioned during the event that he will wait for the feedback of the customers upon the initial delivery. Before he ends off, he also boasted that the company is planning for 500 service centres across India to attend to their customers.
