After all leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally announced the all-new Samsung Galaxy A22 and A22 5G entry-level smartphones in the European market. Although the two devices are largely similar in design, but they are relatively different when it comes to specs.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G
Starting with the Galaxy A22 5G, this device is currently the cheapest 5G device within the Galaxy A series lineup. It features a 6.6” LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution topped with a smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
In the camera department, the Galaxy A22 5G gets a triple-camera setup at the back consisting of a 48 megapixels main camera, 5 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be rounded out by an 8 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded by up to 1TB via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, it draws power from a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. Pricing for the Galaxy A22 5G will start from €230 (US$279) in the European regions.
Samsung Galaxy A22 4G
Coming to the Galaxy A22 4G, it arrives with a 6.4” Super AMOLED display which sports a slightly toned down HD+ screen resolution along with 90Hz screen refresh rate. Interestingly, it’s selfie camera received an upgrade to a 13 megapixels unit instead.
Unlike the 5G variant, the Galaxy A22 features a quad-camera setup instead. Though it keeps the same 48 megapixels camera, but this one gets an additional OIS stabilization. As for the ultra-wide camera, it’s upgraded to an 8 megapixels sensor as well. Finally, you also get a pair of 2 megapixels sensor for macro and depth information.
The Galaxy A22 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. However, the 4G model actually lacks support for microSD card.
Last but not the least, the device is also fitted with a massive 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. At the moment, the official pricing and availability of the Galaxy A22 has yet to be announced.
