Samsung has announced a pair of new entry-level smartphones known as the Galaxy A23 and Galaxy A13 in the European markets where pricing starts from just €190 (US$208). While the two devices share largely identical design and specs, but there are still some notable differences which set the two devices apart.
Samsung Galaxy A23
Starting with the higher-end model, the Samsung Galaxy A23 builds around a 6.6” TFT LCD display which features a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. As usual, there’s an Infinity-V notch upfront to accommodate it’s 8 megapixels selfie camera.
At the back, the phone flaunts a quad-camera system housed within a rectangular-shaped camera module. These cameras include a 50 megapixels main camera, 5 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras to help with macro and depth information.
Interestingly, Samsung didn’t reveal the model of it’s underlying chipset though it did mentioned that the Galaxy A23 will be powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core chipset. In the memory department, it’ll be accompanied by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on is none other than a 5,000mAh battery which carries support for a decently fast 25W charging speed. Quite expectedly, the phone will be shipped with the company’s custom One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Samsung Galaxy A13
Coming to the Galaxy A13, this model gets the same 6.6” FHD+ TFT LCD display as the Galaxy A23. In fact, their similarities extend to the identical 8MP front-facing camera that handles selfie and video calls on the device.
Just like the Galaxy A23, the Galaxy A13 also has four cameras at the back with the same imaging hardware consisting of a 50 megapixels main camera, 5 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels auxiliary sensors.
For the Galaxy A13, Samsung did revealed that the phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 850 chipset. However, it’ll only be offered with up to 6GB RAM instead of 8GB. Nonetheless, it do feature up to 128GB expandable storage.
As for the phone’s battery, this is another aspect which remains unchanged. This means we’ll be looking at the same 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast-charging support. Naturally, it’ll also be shipped with the latest One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 OS.
At the moment, Samsung has yet to officially announce the pricing and availability details of the Galaxy A23 and A13 smartphones, but we well expect to hear about them in the upcoming weeks.
