Samsung had launched Snapdragon and Exynos chipset variants of Galaxy A5 in 2015 and 2016. However, its 2017 edition did not feature Snapdragon chipset model. The Geekbench listings of the alleged Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) suggests that it will be coming in Snapdragon and Exynos models.
The Galaxy A5 (2017) has a model number of SM-A520F. Hence, the SM-A530F model that has appeared on Geekbench seems to belong to the upcoming Galaxy A5 (2018). This model is powered by Exynos 7885 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. It has scored 1541 and 4351 respectively on single-core and multi-core tests on the benchmarking site.
The SM-A5300 model that has been also spotted on the benchmarking site appears to be Snapdragon 660 variant of the Galaxy A5 (2018). It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. This variant has respectively 1593 and 5834 on single-core and multi-core tests on Geekbench. The Exynos and Snapdragon editions of the Galaxy A5 (2018) seem to be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
It is likely that Samsung may release Snapdragon 660 variant of Galaxy A5 (2018) in China while the other regions may get its Exynos variant. The Galaxy A5 (2018) may launch first in China. Recent rumors have revealed that the Galaxy A5 (2018) would be arriving with a dedicated button for accessing Bixby AI and it would be also equipped with full-screen design.
