Samsung Galaxy A74 Has Been Reportedly Discontinued

Samsung is reportedly working on a couple of A-series smartphones. However, there has been no significant news regarding the A74. According to a report, the company has cancelled the A74.

According to the Dutch publication GalaxyClub.nl, there has been no news about the firmware development for the Galaxy A74. While the rumor mill has revealed a lot about other A-series phones, such as the Galaxy A54, Galaxy A33, Galaxy A24, and Galaxy A14, it has not leaked any information on the specs of the A74.

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Design -2

A few weeks ago, the rumor mill claimed that Samsung had discontinued the Galaxy FE series. There has been no word on the Galaxy S21 FE lineup’s successor edition. Hence, it appears that there may not be a Galaxy S22 FE or S23 FE phone from the brand.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 received good reviews from users and critics. It is the company’s first A-series phone with a 108-megapixel camera. Hence, it is surprising to know that the company may not have plans to release its successor.

It appears that by axing the Galaxy A74 and the Galaxy S21 FE, the company wants to create a gap between the A-series and S-series smartphones. This suggests that the budget-friendly Galaxy A73 may have impacted the sales of the S22 series. Reports have claimed that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ will not offer major upgrades apart from the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and a new front camera as compared to the S22. So, getting rid of the A73 could be a way for Samsung to protect the sales of the S23 and S23+.
