Samsung Galaxy C55 listed on official website before official announcement

A number of leaks over the past few weeks have hinted at Samsung reviving its C lineup of smartphones for the Chinese market. The first phone in the revamped lineup will be the Galaxy C55, expected to launch later this month. Ahead of the launch, the device is listed on Samsung China’s official website.

Samsung Galaxy C55 specifications

As per the official listing, the Samsung Galaxy C55 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The screen features a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. There are two memory configurations of the Galaxy C55 on offer. The base variant comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The higher-end model pairs 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage. Rumors suggest that the price of these variants is 1,999 Yuan ($275) and 2,299 Yuan ($320).

The Samsung Galaxy C55 gets its juice from a 5,000mAh battery and brings 45W of wired fast charging. It boasts a triple-camera setup in the back. Leading the line is a 50-megapixel primary shooter, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 5-megapixel macro lens. The phone’s circular cutout on the front houses a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy C55 arrives in two colorways: Colorful Orange and Fashion Black — both of which come with a stitched vegan leather back. The phone measures 7.8mm in thickness and weighs around 180 grams. Rumors surrounding the device claim that the Galaxy C55 will launch in China on April 28. That said, Samsung has yet to acknowledge the phone publicly.

Everything points to the Galaxy C55 being a rebranded version of India’s Galaxy M55 for the Chinese audience. The same device is also expected to be released as the Galaxy F55 in India.
