Samsung has officially confirmed that the company will be launching the long-rumored Galaxy F42 5G smartphone on September 29th – a day after the company debuts the Galaxy M52 5G.
Recent reports have suggested that the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy F42 5G could be a rebranded model of the Galaxy Wide5 that was launched in the South Korean market earlier this month. In fact, the claim appears to be substantiated by the teasers which revealed an identical-looking design as the Galaxy Wide5.
As such, we can well expect to see some rather similar specs starting with a 6.6” IPS LCD display upfront that offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8 megapixels selfie camera.
At the back, the phone has a square-shape camera island which houses a trio of cameras including a 64 megapixels main camera, 5 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the Galaxy F42 5G is expected to be powered an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which will be coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Similarly, the phone is also likely to feature a respectable 5,000mAh battery that comes with 15W fast-charging support. Other than that, we can also expect to be greeted by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as Android 11 OS.
