Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Key Details Emerge Before Rumored August Launch

Samsung had announced the Galaxy Fold as its first foldable smartphone in February 2019. After overcoming technical problems, the Galaxy Fold was made available for purchase in September. The South Korean company is now reportedly working on the Galaxy Fold 2. Some important details on the new foldable device have surfaced ahead of its speculated August launch.

A South Korean publication has claimed that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be arriving in two colorways like Martian Green and Astro Blue. Interestingly, Samsung was speculated to launch the Galaxy Fold in these two colors, but the device eventually arrived in Space Silver and Cosmos Black options.

The outer design of the Galaxy Fold 2 may not be too different from the predecessor model. However, it is expected to house a larger outer display. The original Galaxy Fold has a 7.3-inch display.

The Galaxy Fold 2 was previously rumored to come equipped with S-Pen. However, the new report claims that the Fold 2 won’t ship with S-Pen. Also, the new device is expected to weigh less at 229 grams. This indicates that it will be around 40 grams lighter than the predecessor model.

A previous report had revealed that the Galaxy Fold 2’s base model will come with 256 GB of storage. This indicates that the Fold 2 may come with a cheaper pricing since the original device came with 512 GB of storage.

The mass production of the components of the Galaxy Fold 2 may begin by the middle of next month. The first commercial units could be ready by June. This strategy may possibly allow the company to introduce it along with the Galaxy Note 20 models in August.
