In May, a well-known tipster had revealed the existence of the Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite foldable smartphone. He had revealed the key specs of the device that is said to be codenamed as ‘Winner 2.’ The device was expected to debut this year. However, a fresh report from a South Korean publication reveals that the Fold Lite will break cover next year with a pricing of 1 million around $1,100.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Note 20 series, and Galaxy Z Flip on Aug. 5. Citing information received from industry sources, a South Korean publication reported that the rumored Galaxy Fold Lite will not be announced at the same event. The rumored pricing of $1,100 is quite low compared to the original Galaxy Fold that was introduced last year for $1,980.
The Galaxy Fold Lite is expected to be available in global markets. The foldable phone is unlikely to arrive with 5G support, but it could be fueled by Snapdragon 865 chipset.
The foldable phone may come with an aluminum build and glass on its exterior. It could be equipped with dual rear cameras. The other details of the device are currently under wraps.
The report also reveals the existence of another phone called Galaxy S20 FE. The name reminds of the Galaxy Note 7 FE (Fan Edition) that was introduced in July 2017 after the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7 in 2016. The Galaxy S20 FE is said to come with the core specs of the S20 series along with a lower pricing.
