Samsung is reportedly working on the launch of the Galaxy M02 smartphone. Recent reports have revealed that the Galaxy M02 has received approval from certification sites like the NBTC authority of Thailand, the BIS regulatory body of India, Bluetooth SIG, and Wi-Fi Alliance. India could be one of the first markets to receive the Galaxy M02 phone as its support page went live on Samsung India’s website recently. Today, popular YouTuber and tipster Mukul Sharma took to Twitter to reveal a few vital pieces of information about the Galaxy M02 for the Indian market.
According to Sharma, the Galaxy M02 will be heading to India to strengthen the country’s Digital India initiative. The tipster claims that the phone will be sporting a big display of 6.5 inches. The display is quite large as the predecessor Galaxy M01 phone was fitted with a 5.71-inch screen.
The tipster has also hinted at the pricing of the Galaxy M02. He mentioned that it will cost Rs 6XXX, which means it will be priced between Rs 6,000 ($82) and Rs 7,000 ($96).
So far, the rumor mill has revealed that the Galaxy M02 will support HD+ resolution. It could be driven by the Snapdragon 450 and 3 GB of RAM. The phone may offer users decent internal storage of 64 GB.
The Galaxy M02 may house a massive battery of 5,000mAh battery. Since it will be arriving as an entry-level phone, it may not come with fast charging capabilities. For photography, it may feature a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system. The other details of the Galaxy M02 are under wraps.
It remains to be seen whether the South Korean tech giant announces the Galaxy M02 before the end of this month in India. The handset will be positioned lower than the Galaxy M02s phone that went official in the country earlier this month with a price tag of Rs 9,999 ($137).
